Freisgeata kingdom of the free Geats

Sa Thiudinassus Freisgeata (The kingdom of the free Geats)
The founding
Before the Kingdom the Geata were many different tribes with a loose cultural identity.  The tribes never sought to unite preferring their independence, which they hold in high regard. It was not until the invasion of the old Monvolii Empire did they unite under the white wolf tribe lead by legendary Wulfariks.  But even with the united tribes the Monvolli Empire lead by Emperor Barvanus shattered the tribes at the battle of red hill where the tribes broke at the death of Wulfariks. But it was a pyrrhic victory as the empire was too weak after the war to lay claim to its new holdings. 20 years later the Monvolii Empire fell apart, while at the same time after much infighting the nine great Geata tribes came together to form the great Thuu or council of nobles with the sole goal of electing a high king or thiudans.  Since then it's been a costume for the new king to be elected from one of the 9 Noble families that claim heritage from the first nine tribes.
Modern era
Civil war along with many countries is an common thing in this era but Freisgeata is by are the most famous for its infighting as not everyone is happy with the elections and with the rise of the holy church of Limos or The Luminii church whose sole goal is to spread the teachings of Limos and his prophet Kalima even by an sword's edge. This lead to even more problems for the fragile kingdom as most of the people believe in their old gods as such is a constant target for the church and the countries that follow it.  On the other side many of the counties east of Freigeata are not part of the Luminii church nor seek to. Often support any faction against the church thus turning the kingdom into a battle ground for the two sides.
The recent civil war was such a war. The king at that time was look on as being too weak and old for kingship. The rebels lead by Lord Chatoz took the opportunity to take the capitol and crown Lord Chatoz king. It only lasted a month as Lord Thorismud sunus Hunamunths us swartstainsbaurgs (sunus=son of,us= of or from) and his army took the crown back and was crowned high king by the Thuu. High king Thorismud may have majority support within the Thuu there still some discontent and controversy over his rule. Namely over his convent timing showing up right after the king die. Leaving some to believe he waited on purpose. There also the matter of the new charter founding the knightly order of Woden's chosen who duty is to root out rebels and followers of Limos by any means necessary. Not surprisingly has cause some outrage furthermore other nobles see the orders growing military power might upset the balance between king and vassals.

Faith
Majority of Geats follow the gods of Hoolden who seek to bring balance between and within the nine worlds, while trying protecting the gate that hold back the Ufarsums or forgotten ones who will try to bring the end of the world. The followers of Hoolden view death different from most of us. As there is no real great judgment and the soul have some measure of control where it wants to go, though how one lives his/her life may change what options there is. Some soul might server one of the battle gods to defend the gate, other may want to work with the peace/joyous gods to help take care of the many worlds or they may go to the land of rivers to find some pace and comfort ether staying or parting to some other world or life. Souls unwanted by the gods or the Fahma/spirits  then they can ether reincarnate if lucky but most end up being drag to Helma's goddesses of the underneath realm to play in one of her twisted games.  Sometimes soul good or bad if not careful can get lost in the many worlds/lands basically becoming a ghost.

Those who follow the Luminii church believe strongly in a good and evil that Limos the great sun god seeks to guide his children an path of peace and purity know as the 12 paths of peace of the soul only then can one enter the perfect realm of the sun. those who don't are forever trap in the cold dark earth, to never she the light of day again.
